Ingredients:
- Seer Fish (or) Pomfret:1/2 kg
- Oil:3 1/2 tbs
- Curry Leaves:2-3 Stems
- Mustard Seeds:1/4 tsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste:1 tsp
- Medium sized Tomato:1 finely chopped
- Green Chilles:4 slited one
- Chilli Powder:2 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder:1/4 tsp
- Water:1 cup
- Salt:as per taste
- 1 marble sized ball of tamarind,juice extracted
- Cumin Seeds:1tbsp
- Coriander seeds:2tbsp
- Coconut:3 pieces
Make a ground paste of Cumin seeds,Coriander seeds and Coconut.Put aside.
Method:
- Heat a kadai with 3 1/2 tbs. oil.
- Add curry leaves, and mustard seeds.Fry for a minute till light brown.
- Add chopped onion,stir and fry for a minute till light brown.
- Add garlic ginger paste,stir and fry lightly for 2 minutes,then add paste of cumin seeds,coriander seeds and coconut.Fry well for 2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes,stir and fry fr 2 minutes.
- Add slit green chillies,chilli powder,turmeric powder,1 cup of water and salt.
- Let mixture simmer for 10 minutes and stir.
- Add the raw fish.Close lid and let cook for 5 minutes.
- Open the lid,add tamarind juice and let it cook for a while.Serve hot.
